bortknockols Gurgling, vitriolic hatred spewed at your ears that will make the deafening silence afterwards drive you back for multiple listens. I can't believe it took me this long to finally get a physical copy but I'm glad I waited for The Vestige, now I can listen to all of it in one sitting! Favorite track: I've Got a Gut Feeling.

BranMakMorn Absolutely incredible sludge. This genre can always risk to sound a bit dull and samey if poorly done, but this is a stellar example of how to be both savage and interesting. One of my best of 2020. Keep it up guys, you need to be better known. Favorite track: With Every Wrist Outstretched.

bcb723 If you haven't checked out Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean yet, "The Vestige" is a perfect starting point to their sound. Sprawling, doom sludge with an artistic curiosity to push things out of the listeners comfort zone. Good example - the heavy as shit cover of Death Cab for Cutie that you never knew you needed in your life. A release that screams to be heard on vinyl -- listen to this!! Favorite track: The Mutes Have Begun to Speak.

1.
Into the desperate awakening. Rusted shackles, flooded basements. Hide the bodies, hide the bodies, The bodies. Bloated thespians we call sons. Heralds at attention, the jesters begin to speak, "Our lords, our kings: we set you free" A whisper in the crowd, "Beware a fire is coming, To melt away our chains." Woeful serfdom, sustain anarchy. Collocate! Disperse royal disease. Destroy bloodlines, rip the needle from the vein. Another head for my taxidermy. Despair among kingdoms, Here is our plague, this insurgence. Calloused hands hold sword, Paint their wrists red. A scream from the tower, The King's head presented. Light the flame of glory, Burn bright our torch. “Beware a fire is coming, To melt away our chains.”
2.
There is corrosion on spotted floors. It's gone but I can see it On the shores of knotted roads. I am buried in the ancient grains. Carry me, lead me to the stone. Unburdened in empty thrones. We are alone, We are alone. Help break circles Around the rust. I am undone. I can't feel anymore, Everything is gone. Everything is gone. No glory. No pride. Collect my bones, lay them flat. I am your skeleton, I am unwrapped. Self-awareness in being lost. Careless abuse of my own mind. Can you hear me? Everything is gone. Everything is gone. No glory. No pride. No glory. No pride.
3.
Goliath, Separate the snake The tail from it's remains. Coward onto pike His head slides beneath The crown of blood and thorn. Goliath, King of the Dead. Crush hope in your hands. Show us the way Tear into your skin Resolve, madness. Madness. Call onto him In desolate foundry. Call onto him In eternal inferno.
4.
Rise Weaponize yourselves Against the unseen, Our world is a panopticon. Greased and bloodied fingers Around our necks. Giant evil bluecoats parading our streets. “There is corrosion in the spotted wood desk that once stood where I sit. It’s gone but I can see it as if it were the heron in my dreams following me every night on the shores of knitted roads, only staring. I’m into this as deep as a silo, I am buried in the ancient grains gasping for air, I am unburdened when I finally stop, I am lonliness simplified into eternal dark.” Hang them all, Revolt now. Kill them all. Ripped into the dirt they fall.
5.
Guaranteed asylum In this I was sold. Trapped, introspection Of a body I do not hold. "Gather your realities, Your losses, your egos, your failures." You won't escape this yet, It will never end.
6.
"What will they think?" Of the entrails, of the sounds. In littered cell I will crawl. Call in the Army of Babylon, Blame the Adam Bomb. When you are born They set you on fire.
7.
Something about the way you taste Makes me wanna clear my throat. There's a message to your movements That really gets my goat. I looked for sniffy linings But you're rotten to the core. I've had about all I can take You know I can't take it no more. I got a gut feeling Centered 'round long time ago On your ability to torment. Then you took your tongs of love And stripped away my garment. I looked for sniffy linings. Are we not men? We are Devo. I got a gut fucking feeling That you're rotten to the core I've had about all I can take You know I can't take it no more
8.
Send every god and king. Ten thousand soldiers bodies Buried underground. Watch as their castles bleed Watch their eyes fall out. Leave them all in the ditches, Fill the graves to the grasses Turn the sickness into doubt For reckoning. Leech upon their soils, we shall keep. When will we be freed? When will we be freed? Send every god and king. Loss of control and solidarity impeached, embrace eternal discipline. Tear away this obstruction Piece by piece.
9.
All the temples we shall rule, The devils cavern we shall burn. Impatience is our hallowed tomb. We finalize this annihilation. "Where to lay the waste; Across these tattered eaves?" Amongst these high roads There exists deception. Unholiness to every element of Staged election. I am crouched, gnawing at the crows feet. Dusted fingernails, bury the hatchet. Lithium nightmares, spinal infarction. Fear the valiant, the many. They will come in droves To spite our world.
10.
How I wish you could see the potential The potential of you and me. Like a book elegantly bound But in a language that you can't read. You gotta spend some time, love, You gotta spend some time with me. And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time, love, You gotta spend some time with me. And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. There are days when outside your window: My reflection as I slowly pass. And I long for this mirror perspective When we'll be lovers, lovers at last. You gotta spend some time, love, You gotta spend some time with me. And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time, love, You gotta spend some time with me. And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. You reject my advances and desperate pleas. I won't let you let me down so easily So easily. You gotta spend some time, love, You gotta spend some time with me. And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time, love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart You gotta spend some time, love You gotta spend some time with me And I know that you'll find love I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time with me, I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time with me, I will possess your heart. You gotta spend some time with me, I will possess your heart.

I am a crooked masterpiece. I stand at your feet, gasping in awe of my crimes, my crimes unforgiven. This is a grinding, This is a halt. This is a slaughter Of all I love. This is a binding, This is my fault. This is a message For loathing hearts. Chariot Chariot There is a yearning For the words unsaid. There are times I tried To be myself. My life in glass houses Comes to an end. Every lie in harmony Enters the light. Break these Rose red Eye lids. Hold your Loose grip. Sink your Blade in Our heart. I am a crooked masterpiece. I stand at your feet, gasping in awe of my crimes, my crimes unforgiven. There is sickness in this water, These riverbeds of drought. There is sickness in this water, This candle must burn out. A chariot awaits us. Swirls of fire in the wind, Divide our hopeless hearts. Find a glass worth looking in, To progress we must endure. An apology in Wretched turmoil. I want to feel again, There are times I feel broken. There are times I am unwanted. There is bittersweet in every moment We’re at sea. You form in Every stream and Every mark along my palm. It’s the beauty of gardens Against glass against Everything in azure. I am just the knots. A broke finale: Spoken final words In heaven. All is lost In these pages, In this bible. I will lose control. I will lose control.
12.
I have ripped apart my body To show the world. In spite, in degradation, in calling out your name. These faces, bleak and tender Shedding tears and fragile. The scent of failure Seeps from my skin. And when I reach the end My pockets filled with dust I will speak, untethered, “These words won’t be worth Their weight in gold.” Corrupt in solitude This monolith in darkness. I am enslaved to This statue buried at sea. We ache for pleasures Over discipline, over virtue over purity, over decency.
